Star Wars: The Original Trilogy..and The Prequels

As a child, I had watched the original Star Wars and loved it. I still watch it. George Lucas had mastered the untapped trilogy of the century that would make it classic for years to come. Lucas has introduced to the world what talent, creativity, crastsmanship, and technology can do.

As a film student and filmmaker, I can only aspire to have touched so many people's lives and dreans as he has. With the first trilogy, we have all seen what talented actors can do with a metal and foiled sword that would eventually become a lightsaber. The few grunts and roars that a Wookie can make become unforgettable and part of a trademark. The characters are people you root for and are sad to see that trilogy end....yet then came the prequels. The first prequel, Episode I was a set up story without character development, and an underwater creature we would like to forget. It was a well planned out film with precise choreography, technology, make up effects, and characters that you feel you should know but are unable to. The writing left no room for you to get to know and get to feel for the characters. Death should have been a sad thing for Qui Gon Jinn, but did you feel it or were you just left watching? Good start but let's see where Lucas's magic hits....

Episode II: Attack of the Clones. My review is on my film page so I won't give a review here. I will say this: Helluva lot better! We finally have character development, action that gets you thinking about plots, subplots and thinking of the original trilogy. We begin to see the ironies, film callbacks, and (although the acting could have been better with these two)Anakin and Padme have growth as characters. Obiwan has won me over as a convincing jedi master and Lucas has done his job. So..let's begin.....In a galaxy far, far away.....

Updates

I will periodically update this part of my site as soon as I can. Be patient.

On my links below, and also by clicking the main pic takes you to my star wars subsites which will include character descriptions, animations, and other links.

When I had my other GODIVA site up last year, I had posted the scene by scene summary of EP 2 on it and my whole site was taken down. This is included on my subsites, as well as spoilers of the screenplay for EP 3 which I will have access to this coming year hopefully.

Disclaimer: as always..anything posted here about EP 3 is not for monetary purpose but for personal use only and is the property of LucasArts..yadda yadda...
